With more than thirty-five years of experience in the optical profession, Peter specializes in working with complex prescriptions and specialty lenses, ensuring the highest quality results. The in-house lab at Charlton Optical allows for precise lens cutting and quick repairs, eliminating the need for outsourcing and ensuring fast turnaround times for rush orders and emergencies.

Dr. Renee Gomez joined Charlton Optical as an Independent Optometrist, bringing a wealth of expertise to our team. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Biology from the University of New England in Maine and completed her Doctorate of Optometry at The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2010. Dr. Gomez further honed her skills through a residency at the Veterans Health Administration in Bedford, MA, specializing in ocular diseases of the eye and retina.
With a comprehensive approach to primary eye care, Dr. Gomez serves patients of all ages, offering contact lens exams, fittings, laser vision consultations, diabetic evaluations, pre- and post-cataract evaluations, and general vision exams. She is a licensed OD in Massachusetts and is an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists. Dr. Gomez is passionate about providing a friendly, comfortable, and thorough eye care experience for all her patients and is excited to welcome new faces to the practice. |

Lynda has been an integral part of Charlton Optical since 2001. As Office Manager, she is dedicated to creating a welcoming and positive experience for every customer and their family. With extensive billing and customer service expertise, Lynda is passionate about using her skills to ensure the highest level of care and support for all who visit our practice.

These experiences have given him a strong skill set in medical office operations, from streamlining workflows to ensuring accurate billing processes. A 2011 graduate of Framingham State University, John brings exceptional organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach to every workday, making him an integral part of our team.

With over 30 years of experience as an optician, Jayne takes great pride in helping patients of all ages find the perfect eyewear to meet their needs. A 1992 graduate of Worcester Technical Institute, where she earned honors, Jayne combines her expertise with a genuine passion for patient care. She loves working closely with clients to ensure they feel comfortable and confident in their glasses.
Outside of her work at Charlton Optical, Jayne enjoys spending time at home in Brimfield with her husband and rescue cat. Gardening and floral design are among her favorite hobbies, and she finds joy in creating beautiful arrangements and cultivating her green thumb. |

Comprehensive Vision and Eye Health Examinations
Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing disease. Some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. The entire exam process can take an hour depending on the complexity of the problem. Each patient will be evaluated with a refraction, slit lamp, intraocular pressure and a retinal exam.
Pediatric Eye Care
We offer eye exams for children as young as four years old. We take pride in maintaining the vision of our younger patients in an environment that is lighthearted and fun. We want to insure the good sight, vision, and eye health for the rest of your child's life and take a preventative approach to his/her general health and eye health. We will work with your child's primary care physician to help keep his/her eyes healthy. It is important that all of our pediatric patients have healthy and efficient visual systems to help make visual demands of learning in school easier and fun.

Thanks to the advances in optical technology, almost everyone is a candidate for contact lens use. This includes patients with astigmatism and also those who prefer bifocal or multifocal lenses. At our office, we offer a comprehensive array of contact lenses to suit each individual patient's needs. We offer daily disposables, extended wear soft lenses to gas permeable contact lenses. We offer regular and custom lens services for both healthy and difficult to fit patients.
